What’s new in HR?
1) Federal DOL is now taking public opinion to create a new overtime rule for exempt and salary thresholds. One question is whether to totally eliminate the salary threshold or not. DOL is taking opinions at the following website (https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=WHD-2017-0002-0001) but we wouldn’t mind hearing your opinions as well.
2) New I-9 form released in July 2017 is required to be in use by September 2017. (Yes, this is the second I-9 released this year. This July 2017 release fixes issues with the previous version’s online fillable format and reflects a cosmetic name change.) While you’re at it, you may want to listen to the following and then schedule an I-9 review.
