Preparing for 2017: I-9’s, Minimum Wage Increase, Overtime, Corralling HR Ducks

It’s 2018! How?

Some things to think about:

  • Update your I-9 form and make certain you know the new rules.  The fines for improperly filled up forms have doubled, that includes not signing Section 2 of the form.  And, yes, if you’re using eVerify you need to completely fill out the I-9.  And, yes, it would be a great idea to have Doris pop in to do a review of your I-9 forms (and much cheaper than paying $216/improperly filled out form.)
  • Download the new State of MO minimum wage poster for 2018 so it’s ready to be posted!  And, yes, it would be a good idea to run through your list of posters and locations to make certain you’re compliant.
  • We’ve been preparing our clients since 2015 for the new overtime law (which, while it was over-ruled, doesn’t guarantee that your company is still compliant with the old letter of the law.   Call us for a review of the old rules.  No time for a face to face meeting?   Email me for a link to our Overtime Overview training.
  • Finally, 2018 is a great opportunity to get your HR ducks in a line.  Introducing HR Pathways.  For a quick preview, listen above.
