The Challenge

The majority of images broadcast across our screens are filled with violence. There seems to be no end to the destruction. Online social platforms, news outlets, and independent media can be accessed from your palm allowing constant consuming of information. Violence is all we see, day after day.. Adding to that, COVID-19 lingers, piling onto the turmoil.

Anger boils over. Businesses are being firebombed. People yelling ugly words at each other. Some are fighting. It’s a mess…It’s no wonder people are tense and uptight even on a good day. It’s difficult, but you’re not alone.

I ran across this information and wanted to share it with you as you weave your way through today’s mess.

The Warning

Here are a few warning signs of potential violent behavior. These are some red flags listed by the National Safety Council:

  • Unexplained absenteeism…
  • Changes in behavior
  • Decline in job performance
  • Depression
  • Withdrawal
  • Suicide comments
  • Violation of company policies
  • Emotional responses to correction
  • Mood swings

A Solution!

We all have bad days, so grace is of course merited to ourselves and those around us. The most significant thing we can do, is simply to pay attention to what is going on around us. You may save someone’s life by simply asking how they’re doing, or if there’s anything you can do.

When your days are filled to the brim, we are always available to help.

That’s Bob and Doris your HR Experts.
