In our passion for the dance, we sometimes lose the one we brought to the dance.
In our passion for building, a lot can get left behind. These might include a spouse or life partner, kids, or time with God. Sometimes in our passion we get so keyed up that we can’t relax. We do the wrong things to relax or strike out in impatience and end up alienating the ones that are most important.
The way to make it to end with our dance partners intact is not to be less passionate about the dance, but to take time away for the dance partner.
Balance is not about moderation in all things, but being rightly passionate about all the big rocks in our lives.
Passion that leads to mental fatigue causes skewed perspective and skewed priority. I regularly have conversations with professionals who re-evaluate in their 40’s and then pare down their businesses to a right size, unfortunately often after a divorce or a family illness. Usually the key is for them to develop real accountability relationships with others.
2018 is a year to live the dream. We’d love to come alongside you AND to hear your stories of how you order your life to achieve balance.
